Marie's addresses in Marrakech
A desire to escape for spring break?
In the city of her childhood, Marie shows you around her favorite places to enjoy these few days in the sun.
Lunch at the Pool Pavilion, La Mamounia
After a morning swim, I meet my friends around the pool pavilion buffet.
The Mamounia is a wonderful place, it also hosted the Hitchcock's film, "The man who knew too much"!
Bab Jdid avenue,
Go shopping in the souk
In the heart of the city’s main square Jemaa el Fna, the souk is a must-see in Marrakech; it is full of gifts and memories
to bring back from your trip!
At sunset, I go up to drink a mint tea at the Café de France that offers a great view of the square.

Rediscover Yves Saint Laurent’s creations, Musée YSL
Walking around the Majorelle garden, I dive into the French couturier’s wonderful world. In a setting with black walls are presented his it pieces, along with pictures of his forever muses - Loulou de la Falaise, Betty Catroux, Talitha Getty ... Pieces of art dear to Yves Saint Laurent are also presented: from Picasso to Matisse, artists who inspired him so much together with Majorelle and van Gogh. This place is always a fabulous source of inspiration for my collections !

Admire the desert ..., The Marrakech break
La Pause is located thirty kilometers from Marrakech, in what the ancients called the "Desert Marrakchi", nestled in the arid lands of the Agafay mountains: it is an oasis of freshness lined by a wadi, and a breathtaking view of the wide-open spaces. The ecolodge offers beautiful rides aboard a quad to admire the Moroccan desert.

Prepare a marrakchie dish, tanjia
Tanjia is a typical dish of Moroccan gastronomy.
According to tradition the dish must cook for 3 hours in the embers of the wood oven of a hammam, but you can just as well prepare it in your traditional oven!
My recipe: put the pieces of meat in a saucepan (you can cook it with veal, beef or chicken according to your taste), add the spices, the lemon confit, peeled garlic cloves, then the oil, salt and butter. Mix well and add 20cl of water.
Close the casserole and bake for 3 hours.
Know that according to tradition, men are supposed to cook tanjia, a good opportunity to put your husband in the kitchen!
